Install the InkReady app

InkReady is a web app you can add to your home screen for one-tap access - and it keeps working offline, syncing your records when you reconnect. Here is how to install it on any device.

📱 iPhone & iPad (Safari)

1. Open inkready.co.uk in Safari (it must be Safari, not Chrome, on iOS).
2. Tap the Share button - the square with an upward arrow, in the toolbar.
3. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
4. Tap “Add” (top right). The InkReady icon appears on your home screen.

🤖 Android (Chrome)

1. Open inkready.co.uk in Chrome.
2. Tap the ⋮ menu (top right).
3. Tap “Install app” (or “Add to Home screen”).
4. Confirm. You may also see an “Install” banner you can tap directly.

💻 Desktop (Chrome / Edge)

1. Open inkready.co.uk.
2. Click the install icon in the address bar (a small screen/monitor icon), or use the browser menu → “Install InkReady”.
3. Click “Install”. InkReady opens in its own window.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once installed and opened at least once, InkReady loads without a connection and lets you keep capturing records. Anything you save while offline is held safely on your device and syncs automatically when you are back online. You will see an “Offline” indicator while disconnected and a “Syncing…” message when it catches up.

Offline sync is best-effort and depends on your device and browser. On iPhone/iPad, syncing happens when you reopen the app with a connection. Always confirm important records have synced (no “waiting to sync” indicator) before relying on them for an inspection.
